Congressman Bobby Bright Visits Alabama Center
On January 6, teammates from DaVita Dothan open their doors to U.S. Congressman Bobby Bright from Alabama. Rep. Bright scheduled 45 minutes for the center visit and actually stayed for an hour and a half!
During his visit, the Congressman learned about the causes of kidney disease, the impact of kidney disease in the community, and DaVita’s personal commitment to community service by providing free CKD EMPOWER classes to help people delay the progression of kidney disease.
Teammate experts reviewed dialysis treatment choices including the clinical, psychosocial and financial advantages and challenges dialysis patients face. Legislative issues were discussed including the potential adverse affects of bundling medications/treatments for ESRD, the need for dialysis patients to have a choice in insurance coverage beyond 30 months and the financial impact those choices will have to the individual patients, dialysis providers, and Medicare.
In response, Rep. Bright stated that he would have his team look into the MSP policy change and if there weren’t any hidden issues he would be more than happy to support the proposal.
Congratulations DaVita Dothan, you hit the mark and gave G-Force an opportunity to follow up with Rep. Bright’s DC office!

U.S. Representative Bobby Bright, (AL)
