FLORIDA
In May 2010, Governor Charlie Crist approved Florida's budget which includes a $5 dialysis treatment rate increase for Medicaid patients. This is the only Medicaid rate increase in Florida. Many other states saw their rates cut.
GEORGIA: Medigap Legislation Passed in Georgia
Beginning November 1, 2010, this legislation will enable dialysis patients in Georgia to access Medigap coverage, reducing their out-of-pocket burden and enhancing their eligibility for a kidney transplant. Thank you for your support!
TENNESSEE: Medigap Legislation Passed in Tennessee
On May 27, 2010, Governor Phil Bredesen signed SB 3164 into law, giving all dialysis patients and the disabled in Tenn. access to life sustaining and enhancing Medigap insurance coverage. As of January 1, 2011, patients and their families will have access to Medigap plans instead of being forced into Medicaid.

SOUTH CAROLINA: Extend Medigap Coverage in South Carolina
Despite efforts to extend Medigap coverage to those under 65, the legislation did not pass this year. However, with your help, we will continue to work to make Medigap coverage in South Carolina a reality in 2011.
